Steve is a retired Internist and Gastroenterologist. He is a graduate of Stanford University and Washington University School of Medicine. He spent three years following residency at University of California School of Medicine in San Francisco in the Gastroenterology Unit. Following training, he spent several years at Naval Regional Medical Center Oakland as Training Officer in Internal Medicine. Following the Navy, Steve entered private practice in San Mateo County for 18 years and was on the Clinical faculty at UCSF as an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine. In 1994, he left private practice and joined Health Net of California as Chief Medical Officer for State Health Programs and Vice-President for Medical Affairs. This required moving to Granite Bay in Placer County California. Steve retired from Health Net in 2008 and has been working as a part-time consultant for self-insured employer groups and for the Medical Board of California. He is Vice-President of the Mayers Intermountain Healthcare Foundation Board in Fall River Mills, California, and is President of the Shelborne HOA in Granite Bay. His passions are fly fishing and digital photography. Currently, Steve is using a Nikon D800 SLR Camera and processing images on a 27 inch iMac running Adobe Lightroom 6.
